Ephesians 5:17

My view from "The Chair" this morning - Ephesians 5:17. This morning I had a major collision in my head!  These often happen for me when something I've read in my Bible hijacks my thoughts and then collides with either something else I'm reading or what someone says to me in passing.  It is then that I more clearly understand what He is asking me to do.  I don't know how God gets through to you, but this certainly does the trick for me.  I've been reading Joshua Becker's fabulous book, "The More of Less" and pondering where I should start trimming my belongs to make more room for what I LOVE doing.  Then this morning as I was reading in Ephesians, I was drawn to this verse.  In fact, I read it over and over and over.  It stung!   I got up and decided to go get my shoes on.  Opening my closet, I immediately started justifying why it was so full.  You know, reasons like, "There is a wide range of temperatures"  or "I have an array of different types of events I have to dress for."  The Lord just simply whispered, "Start here."  I spent a few hours going through my half of the closet and here is the result - 75 pieces of clothing; four pairs of shoes; and one set of skis.  I'm sure there's more purging to be done, but that is my start.   As I was purging, I was also chatting with my Father and confessing my "thoughtless" consumeristic ways. This was my obedient offering to His prompting.   Maybe for you, your closet isn't "thoughtlessly" put together, maybe you act thoughtlessly with your words or time or maybe it's something else.  If you ask Him to show you how to be more purposeful with your resources, He will.  You can count on it!  Until We Chat Again, Crystal - The Plank-Eyed Girl
